The team performs an initial System Analysis with the specification supplied by the customer. An initial estimate of the testing activities is prepared based on the system analysis. Test Plan, which addresses the detailed estimates, schedule, resources (both hardware & software), test scenarios, skills needed and tools required, shall be prepared. During Test Design, the team shall be preparing test cases and scripts used for test execution. In Test execution phase, the team shall be performing various validation methods and reporting issues if any, using bug tracking system. During Test Results analysis phase, the team shall be analyzing the test results to check whether the customer specified acceptance criteria is met and will issue a test certificate.

Spiral Model (Iterative approach)

This model is based on the continual need to refine the requirements and estimates for a project. The spiral model is effective when used for rapid application development of very small projects. This approach can generate great synergy between the development team and the customer because the customer is involved in all stages by providing feedback and approval.

Waterfall Model

The waterfall model works best for projects in which the project requirements can be clearly defined and are not liable to modifications in the future.
